New Zealand Diploma in Systems Administration Level 6

Programme Overview:
Graduates of this programme will be capable of carrying out systems administration, related services and support. The can operate in the organisation with professional standards and practice, both independently and as a part of the team. The graduates can also manage client systems and support in all sectors of the economy.

The graduates of the programme will have following skills on successful completion of the programme.

Technical Skills:

  • Implement a range of technologies for systems and network services to meet organisational requirements.
  • Plan and implement the automated system and application software deployment, plan, implement and manage a directory to support efficient organisational operations.
  • Implement a server-based virtualization infrastructure, implement a solution, and administer infrastructure for remote network access.
  • Manage and administer a messaging and collaboration service to meet organisational requirements.
  • Write scripts to automate standard system procedures.
Core IT Skills:
  • Behave with integrity as a responsible Information Technology professional to contribute positively to society.
  • Communication, information design, personal, and interpersonal skills, clearly and professionally to enhance working effectiveness, efficiency, and quality outcomes in an organisational environment.
  • Project management tools and techniques to an IT related project to analyse and solve problems.
The qualification provides a pathway to NCBT Diploma in Computing (Network & Security) - Level 7.

 

Programme Aim

To provide students with relevant skills at industry standards for carrying out systems administration and providing related advice and support.

Fees & Costs

40 weeks

  • $15,600 Tuition Fee

  • $500 Enrolment Fee
  • $500 Admission Fee
  • $670 for Health and Travel Insurance for 14 months

 

Entry Requirements

  • Must have a level 5 qualification OR an equivalent international qualification

  • Minimum age of 19 years

  • Previous work experience would be an advantage

  • The applicant needs to have an overall IELTS proficiency level in Academic English of 6.0 with no individual band score lower than 5.5 OR an acceptable score from an NZQA approved International English Language Testing System.
